MoveUP is a young choreographers programme for dancers aged 13 – 19. The programme gives young dancers the opportunity to develop their choreographic skills and supports them to make their own piece of dance that is showcased on Darlington Hippodrome’s main stage.
The programme gives young creatives the opportunity to take part in a variety of choreographic workshops and creative processes to develop new skills of creativity, facilitation, teaching and time management. The young creatives will learn how to be critical learners and reflective of their own work through identifying areas of development and implementing measure to improve. The process gives a collaborative approach with professional artists in a professional setting making choreography of artistic high-quality, whilst gaining both life and employability skills.
Our next programme is MoveUP 2025, launching in Spring 2024 with taster sessions across the Tees Valley in school and community settings. Applications to apply will open July 2024, with the deadline to express interest by September. Those selected will begin the programme from October 2024, with intensive workshops taking place in half terms and weekends. The MoveUP 2025 showcase will take place at Darlington Hippodrome in June 2025.
